Role purpose and location

Position responsibilities

• Research companies and industries to evaluate investment opportunities and monitor holdings.
• Prepare and maintain models, earnings forecasts, valuations, research summaries, earnings updates, and presentation materials.
• Analyze financial statements, company results, industry developments, and market announcements.
• Maintain accurate research data and contribute to research discussions.
• Collaborate with investment colleagues, prioritize tasks, and deliver accurate, timely work.

Skills and experience

• Demonstrated interest in investing, intellectual curiosity, and sound analytical judgment.
• Foundational knowledge of financial accounting, financial statement analysis, financial modelling, and equity valuation.
• Relevant experience in equity research, investment management, investment banking, accounting, or a related analytical role; internships and co-op placements count.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint proficiency, communication skills, attention to detail, and time management.

Education

• Completed undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Development opportunities

• Hands-on research and mentorship, with opportunities to gain modelling and valuation expertise and exposure to other investment disciplines.
• Participation in investment meetings and access to sell-side research reports.

Compensation

• Anticipated base salary is CAD $85,000–$120,000 annually; Boston compensation will be in USD.
• Variable compensation may apply, and actual compensation depends on location, qualifications, market conditions, and internal equity.
