Overview
FMPS-Moldes is looking for a skilled **Equipment Leasing Accountant** to join our finance team in Doha.
This role is pivotal in managing the financial records for equipment leasing, ensuring accurate tracking, depreciation, and compliance with leasing standards.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in accounting within industrial equipment leasing, with a focus on cost control, asset management, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for leased assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain detailed financial records of leased equipment, ensuring compliance with lease agreements, payment terms, and contractual obligations
- Prepare and update depreciation schedules for leased equipment, applying correct accounting treatments (IFRS 16 or local GAAP)
- Manage the financial aspects of lease contracts, including payments, invoicing, and revenue recognition
- Track and monitor leased assets, ensuring accuracy in accounting for both operating and finance leases
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports detailing leasing income, liabilities, and expenses
- Reconcile equipment lease accounts and resolve discrepancies in financial records
- Ensure proper accounting treatment of leased equipment, adhering to relevant standards and regulations
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis related to leased equipment operations
- Collaborate with the procurement and operations teams to track the usage, maintenance, and life cycle of leased assets
- Assist with audit processes by providing accurate documentation and supporting schedules for leased assets
- Monitor and report on lease payments, ensuring timely collections and adherence to payment schedules
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in equipment leasing, asset management, or financial accounting
- Strong understanding of lease accounting principles, including IFRS 16 (or local equivalents)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software/ERP systems
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage large volumes of data
- Good communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and clients
Preferred Skills
- Experience in industrial equipment leasing, machinery, or manufacturing sectors
- Familiarity with asset management systems and lease tracking software
- Experience in financial reporting and cost control in leasing environments
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA are a plus
