Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Environmental Health Safety Specialist based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role involves ensuring compliance with environmental and workplace safety regulations, conducting environmental and safety assessments, developing and implementing EHS policies, delivering safety training programs, and monitoring the effectiveness of safety procedures in various workplaces. The position requires close collaboration with teams to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure full compliance with UAE HSE regulations, labor laws, and company safety standards.
• Conduct daily site inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification.
• Monitor implementation of Permit to Work (PTW), confined space, and safe work procedures.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness programs.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain HSE reports, records, and documentation.
• Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 compliance initiatives.
• Promote a positive safety culture across all operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 5–10 years overall HSE experience
• 5–7 years UAE-based experience preferred
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC)
• International Safety Diploma (NQF Level 6) preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Safety or Engineering preferred
• ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 Internal or Lead Auditor certification
• Additional HSE trainings (Incident Investigation, Risk Assessment, Confined Space, PTW, etc.)

Qualifications

• Total Over 5- 10 years of Experience in UAE.
• Proficiency in Health & Safety and Occupational Health practices to ensure regulatory compliance and workplace well-being
• Bachelor Degree in any field of Engineering
• Relevant certifications in EHS standards and practices, such as NEBOSH or any other Level 6 Diploma are desirable
• Strong knowledge of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) systems and processes
• Expertise in Workplace Safety and Safety Training to develop and implement training programs that foster a safe working environment
• Ability to assess and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational safety regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in diverse teams
• Familiarity with local and international EHS regulations and standards is an advantage
• Professional memberships such as IOSH / IIRSM / CSP preferred
