Job Summary

- Analytical and highly detailed in designing, constructing and operating in-situ remediation programs.
- Assess the project's environmental aspect and impact as well as profound mitigation measures.
- Supporting project team in achieving GSAS Certifications as per contract requirements.
- Duties & Responsibilities, (include but not limited to):
- Ensure projects comply with local and international environmental regulations and standards, including preparing and maintaining the Construction Environmental Management Plan
- Maintain a detailed NCR register and track the progress and closure of environmental issues.
- Conduct regular environmental inspections and audits of project sites to ensure compliance with CEMP and environmental regulations.
- Support in the application of environmental permits and ensuring compliance with permit conditions
- Support projects in achieving the required GSAS Certifications as per contract.
- Develop and implement sustainability strategies
- Promote sustainable practices in the design, construction, and operation of public infrastructure projects.
- Develop and implement effective waste management strategies to reduce, segregate, and properly dispose of construction and hazardous waste
- Implement and manage sustainability initiatives during the construction phase, ensuring adherence to sustainability standards (e.g., GSAS).
- Monitor adherence to environmental and sustainability guidelines specific to public works and infrastructure projects.
- Conduct Audit and Inspection to monitor the implementation of the project's environmental and sustainability management systems.
- Implement strategies for reducing waste and enhancing recycling and reuse within project operations.
- Stay informed about local environmental policies, regulations, and standards, and implement them effectively within the organization
- Collaborate across departments to integrate sustainable practices and educating colleagues on environmental initiatives are key aspects.
- Prepare detailed environmental reports and documentation for Ashghal, including compliance reports and sustainability performance metrics. This includes exploring new tools for data analysis and modeling, and identifying innovative solutions for environmental challenges
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining all necessary environmental permits, ensuring timely applications and renewals.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering/Equivalent.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience.
- UPDA certified
- Certificate in Environmental Management (CEM)
- International Organization for Standardization, ISO, Lead Auditor - Environmental Management System – EMS_14001
- Strong knowledge of environmental compliance and regulations (CEMP, local, and international standards)
Required Skills
- Proficient in specific software programs commonly used in environmental engineering
- Proficient in conducting environmental audits, inspections, and reporting findings
- Ability to issue and resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
- Ability to identify environmental challenges
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage sustainability projects
- Competent in investigating environmental incidents and implementing corrective actions.
