Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Engineering, Science, or Math.
  • A Department of Defense Secret security clearance must be obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire.
  • Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; U.S. citizenship is required.

Role responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions supporting the NOSIS program.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.
  • Contribute to full-stack development across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and continuous integration/delivery pipelines.
  • Support system integration, RESTful API design, and containerized deployments.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation.

Required technical skills

  • JavaScript and PostgreSQL for frontend and relational database development.
  • TypeScript for strongly typed JavaScript development.
  • Spring Boot for Java-based backend services.
  • Go or Java for backend microservices development.
  • RESTful API design and implementation.
  • Docker and containerization for deployment workflows.
  • Agile practices, including Scrum or Kanban.

Nice-to-have skills

  • GitOps tools such as FluxCD and message queues such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
  • Observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or OpenTelemetry.
  • CI/CD pipeline experience and Kubernetes/container orchestration.

Workplace

  • The position is fully on-site at the Port Orchard, Washington office.

Compensation

  • Target salary range is USD $80,000 to $95,000 per year; actual pay may vary based on experience and other factors.

  • A 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off is available if desired.
