Compensation

• The stated annual salary range is $112,000–$159,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and assignment.
• Anticipated ranges are $112,000–$125,000 for junior, $120,000–$148,000 for mid-level, and $127,000–$159,000 for senior openings.

Work location

• Work is primarily onsite at a government site in Ashburn, Virginia; specific worksite and travel expectations will be confirmed for the assignment.

Eligibility and clearance

• Applicants must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain and maintain the required CBP BI–High Trust background investigation and suitability determination, including applicable credit history review.
• Applicants must be available to work primarily onsite at a government site in Ashburn, Virginia.
• The posting lists junior openings at 3+ years, mid-level openings at 3+ years, and senior openings at 5+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain enterprise log-collection infrastructure and support ELS and SIEM platform health, performance, and reliability.
• Configure, onboard, and maintain log sources across systems, applications, networks, endpoints, and cloud environments; troubleshoot collection, processing, connectivity, and ingestion issues.
• Develop, test, and maintain log parsers, correlation rules, signatures, and other security content.
• Support log data collection and aggregation from firewalls, intrusion detection systems, endpoint tools, proxy servers, DLP platforms, cloud services, and vulnerability scanners.
• Create dashboards for security monitoring, system oversight, and audit reporting; support approved enhancements in on-premises and cloud environments.
• Identify gaps in logging coverage, platform capabilities, and processes; recommend improvements and support streaming data processing.
• Extract and analyze log information for security investigations and operational requests.
• Maintain technical documentation, onboarding procedures, implementation plans, and support workflows; collaborate with technical and government stakeholders.

Technical background

• Relevant professional experience in enterprise logging, SIEM administration, security engineering, systems administration, or related technical work.
• Experience configuring, maintaining, or troubleshooting log-collection infrastructure, data sources, or security-monitoring platforms.
• Understand log movement from source systems through collection and processing into centralized ingestion; investigate issues involving feeds, connectivity, configuration, and platform performance.
• Familiarity with log parsing, search queries, correlation rules, dashboards, or similar security-data capabilities.
• Experience with technical documentation and clear communication of implementation or troubleshooting steps; ability to collaborate with technical teams and explain findings and recommendations.
