Role overview

About the role

• Keep the wind farms safe, reliable, and efficient while protecting asset integrity and meeting legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
• Develop and deliver long-term operations and maintenance strategies to maximise reliability, availability, and value.
• Provide technical leadership across turbines, major components, HV systems, electrical infrastructure, and balance of plant assets.
• Lead condition monitoring and asset health management to identify risks, optimise maintenance, and reduce unplanned failures.
• Assess technical risks and implement cost-effective mitigation plans.
• Coordinate engineering modifications and major maintenance campaigns in accordance with standards and change management requirements.
• Manage technical specifications, procurement support, and contractor delivery against safety, quality, and commercial objectives; act as Contract Officer when required.
• Lead and develop engineering personnel through capability building, performance management, and succession planning.
• Provide technical reporting, root cause analysis, business cases, and engineering recommendations; drive continuous improvement and visible HSSE leadership.

Requirements and experience

• Degree in engineering or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• Proven experience in wind farm operations, engineering asset management, or a comparable asset-intensive industry.
• Strong knowledge of asset integrity, maintenance strategy, and engineering risk management.
• Experience managing engineering contracts, projects, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of HSSE legislation and standards, supported by an IOSH qualification or equivalent.
• Experience with HV systems and WTSR authorisations such as AT, AE, or Person.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• May require active or attainable National Security Vetting to SC level; failure to obtain or maintain it may affect an offer or existing employment.

Location

• The position is associated with the Mostyn, Flintshire wind farm site.
• Candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance of the site or be willing to relocate.
