About the Role
Lead and grow the Web Platform team within Bitwarden's India Engineering Center of Excellence.
The team supports the web application, Electron desktop client, browser extension, CLI, and future products.
Work closely with managers and teams across the organization to support feature development, stability, and platform security.
Team Leadership
- Hire, develop, and retain engineers.
- Set measurable team goals and report on progress.
- Conduct one-on-ones, performance reviews, individualized growth planning, and stretch-opportunity planning.
- Create an inclusive environment that values teamwork and collaboration.
Planning and Delivery
- Facilitate weekly syncs, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and sprint planning.
- Monitor in-flight work, resolve blockers, and provide updates outside the team.
- Maintain a sprint-ready backlog covering bugs, technical debt, and feature work.
- Synthesize stakeholder requests into prioritized, actionable work.
Technical and Cross-functional Work
- Own escalation and triage for production issues, community bugs, and enterprise customer escalations involving autofill and desktop integrations.
- Serve as liaison between Engineering, Design, Product, Architecture, and other engineering teams.
- Improve team processes, engineering quality, efficiency, and developer experience.
- Support platform stability and security across web-based clients.
Required Experience
- Ten to twelve years of experience leading engineering teams or complex cross-functional product engineering initiatives.
- Experience with globally distributed Product Engineering, GCC, or Center of Excellence environments.
- Experience managing distributed or cross-regional teams across time zones.
- Experience with engineering management, technical program management, engineering delivery, product operations, design program management, or a similar role.
Required Capabilities
- Ability to lead delivery across engineering organizations and influence multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of Agile development, modern engineering practices, and product delivery lifecycles.
- Strong communication with Engineering, Product, Design, and executive stakeholders.
- Problem-solving, prioritization, decision-making, and continuous improvement skills.
- Coaching-oriented leadership experience developing high-performing teams.
- Technical fluency in CI/CD, automation, and release engineering.
- Experience managing or working closely with BRE, SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal management training or certifications are preferred.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, similar project management platforms, or AI tooling for development and workflow support is preferred.
