Engineering Manager, Wallet

Role Overview

What You Will Do

• Lead, hire, coach, and retain engineers across wallet clients, supporting services, and onchain integrations.
• Set technical direction for account recovery, key management, signing, transaction simulation, dApp connectivity, asset management, swaps, and DeFi.
• Coordinate ownership and execution across web, browser extension, iOS, Android, backend services, SDKs, and protocol dependencies.
• Improve architecture, testing, release safety, observability, incident response, and post-incident learning.
• Partner with product and design to simplify onchain workflows while exposing fees, permissions, risks, and transaction outcomes.
• Work with security and protocol teams to evaluate threats and balance usability, decentralization, privacy, and asset protection.
• Use data, user research, support feedback, and ecosystem context to prioritize work and measure outcomes.

What You Bring

• Experience managing and developing software engineers, including senior engineers, in a high-ownership product environment.
• Direct experience shipping production blockchain wallet functionality.
• Understanding of self-custody, private-key security, signing, recovery, transaction lifecycle, chain and RPC failure modes, and wallet-to-dApp interactions.
• Hands-on DeFi fluency covering liquidity, routing, slippage, staking, lending, bridges, protocol risk, smart-contract risk, and user protections.
• Strong systems judgment across client applications, backend services, APIs or SDKs, distributed dependencies, monitoring, and operational response.
• A record of setting direction in ambiguous environments and delivering reliable products across multiple platforms.
• Ability to partner with product, design, security, and senior technical leaders while maintaining engineering accountability.

Preferred Experience

• Experience integrating decentralized exchanges, aggregators, bridges, staking, lending, or fiat on- and off-ramps into a wallet.
• Familiarity with Sui, Move, programmable transaction blocks, zkLogin, Wallet Standard, or another modern smart-contract platform.
• Experience leading products through rapid growth, high transaction volume, security review, or asset-impacting incidents.
