Role overview
Lead engineering, maintenance, and facilities operations at Hyatt Place Dubai Wasl District and Hyatt Place Dubai Baniyas Square.
Ensure hotel systems operate safely and efficiently, with well-maintained guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead both properties' Engineering Departments; supervise, coach, and motivate colleagues.
- Oversee building systems and equipment; develop preventive maintenance programs and complete corrective repairs promptly.
- Plan schedules, allocate resources, and manage engineering priorities.
- Monitor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life-safety systems.
- Ensure compliance with hotel standards, local regulations, safety requirements, and environmental practices.
- Manage budgets, operating expenses, contractors, and service agreements; maintain maintenance, inspection, and equipment records.
- Support energy, water, and waste reduction; coordinate with hotel departments and external contractors, suppliers, and authorities.
- Respond to emergencies and breakdowns; support renovation, refurbishment, and capital expenditure projects.
Qualifications
- Previous Engineering Manager, Chief Engineer, or Assistant Chief Engineer experience in a hotel or similar hospitality environment.
- Multi-property engineering operations experience is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water systems, boilers, kitchen equipment, and general building maintenance.
- Leadership, communication, team development, preventive maintenance, facilities management, health and safety, environmental, and fire-life-safety knowledge.
- Budgeting, procurement, and contractor-management experience.
- Practical, hands-on, solutions-focused, organized approach; able to manage competing priorities.
- Flexible hours and response to operational emergencies may be required.
- Relevant technical or engineering qualifications are preferred.
