Engineering Lead (Piping)

Job purpose

Layout, materials, and stress analysis

• Apply Greenfield and Brownfield layout requirements to piping design.
• Use 3D modeling to visualize piping systems and layouts, identify clashes, and address practical construction needs.
• Address corrosion and material degradation through material selection and protective coatings.
• Select materials for corrosive environments, considering chemicals and conditions such as temperature and humidity.
• Consider thermal expansion, dynamic loading, pressure, and temperature in piping stress analysis.
• Use stress-analysis software to simulate piping behavior under loads, identify weak points, and optimize the design.

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least eight years of overall offshore industry or discipline experience; piping layout knowledge is mandatory.
• At least five years of Brownfield piping layout and design experience.
• Greenfield offshore-facility layout design experience and understanding of piping layout and design requirements.
• Understanding of Brownfield piping layout and design for retrofits and modifications, including piping tie-in requirements.
• Knowledge of piping design code requirements.
• Understanding of stress analysis, report reading, FIV/AIV, and their importance in piping design.
• Understanding of materials requirements, selection criteria, and compatibility based on fluids and environment.
• Understanding of project needs to protect quality, safety, schedule, and cost.
