DataSurity is SARC's privacy-compliance platform, helping regulated Indian organizations such as banks, NBFCs, and PSUs manage privacy compliance as software.
SARC is an advisory firm with practices spanning cybersecurity, data protection, regulatory advisory, and RegTech.
The role
Own DataSurity's engineering, including architecture, product build, and security, while leading a lean engineering team.
The platform is signing its first enterprise clients.
Engineering and team leadership
- Own technical architecture decisions covering data models, module boundaries, identity, tenancy, and client APIs.
- Run the software development lifecycle, set review requirements, and ensure tests validate intended behavior.
- Lead and grow engineers and contractors; direct and review AI-assisted coding sessions.
- Shape the roadmap and help hire future engineers.
Security, integration, and operations
- Own data isolation, sign-in and SSO, signed tokens, key management, privacy-conscious logging, monitoring, and incident response.
- Prepare for bank security reviews, answer CISO questionnaires, and lead technical client sessions.
- Design client integrations through web SDKs and server-to-server APIs, with mobile SDKs planned later.
- Operate staging, demo, and production environments, including deployments, backups, and releases.
What you bring
- 8 to 12 years in engineering, including building a security or privacy product from the ground up in areas such as DLP, DSPM, data discovery, CASB, consent management, or identity.
- Data security knowledge covering discovery, classification, protection, and detector precision.
- Multi-tenant SaaS architecture, client-data isolation, sign-in, SSO, signed tokens, and key management experience.
- Hands-on coding and code review, ideally TypeScript and Node, with solid SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Led 3 to 8 engineers, including contractors, and established a review culture.
- Proficient with AI coding tools such as Claude Code; able to brief tools, review output, and catch errors.
- Clear communicator who can work with a bank CISO and write concise documentation.
Strong plus
- Data protection, privacy, leakage, and data security experience.
- Mobile security, native SDKs, and device-bound keys on Android and iOS.
- AWS hosting, backups, and data-residency setups for regulated Indian clients.
Workplace
- South Delhi office; the role is in office.
