The Engineering Intern – Waste Management
will support daily operations related to industrial waste handling, treatment, and recycling at Gulf Environment’s facilities in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
This full-time, on-site role involves assisting with waste characterization, data collection, and documentation for hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams, as well as supporting compliance with local and international environmental regulations.
The intern will work closely with engineers and operations teams to monitor waste processing activities, contribute to process improvement initiatives, and help develop technical reports, logs, and standard operating procedures.
Additional responsibilities include supporting site inspections, participating in safety and environmental training sessions, and collaborating on projects that improve recycling efficiency and sustainability outcomes.
Qualifications
- **Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.**
- Strong Passion for learning with growth mindset
- Basic knowledge of Waste Management and Solid Waste Management, with an interest in industrial and hazardous waste operations.
- Basic understanding of Recycling principles and practices, including segregation, recovery, and sustainable resource use.
- Background in Environmental Science or related fields, with awareness of environmental regulations, compliance, and sustainability concepts.
- Ability to participate in and deliver Training related to safety, environmental best practices, and operational procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in data collection, reporting, and documentation.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to work on-site in industrial environments and adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental standards.
