Engineer, Water OT Infrastructure

About This Role

Job summary:

To support the implementation and maintenance of operational technology systems within the water sector. Involves assisting in system design, conducting performance monitoring, and troubleshooting OT infrastructure. Collaborates with senior engineers and other technical staff to ensure the reliability and efficiency of water operational systems.

General Responsibilities:

• Policy, Procedures, Process and Systems
• Ensure the compliance of organization’s policy, systems, processes, procedures, and controls in line with group delegation of authority policy so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner.
• Reporting
• Ensure that all reports are completed timely and comply with the business policies and standards.
• Manage the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the business senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making.
• Comply with organization’s requirements in a timely manner.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design, configuration, and deployment of operational technology systems, including PLC and RTU systems.
• Monitor system performance, collect data and analyze trends to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with OT infrastructure components, ensuring minimal impact on water operations and service delivery.
• Support the development of maintenance schedules and procedures for OT systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Participate in project teams, contributing technical expertise and ensuring that infrastructure requirements are met throughout project lifecycles.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate OT systems with overall water operations and management systems.
• Conduct system tests and evaluations, documenting findings and providing recommendations for enhancements or modifications.
• Assist in maintaining cybersecurity for OT infrastructure, identifying potential vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Provide support and training to technicians and junior engineers on the operation and maintenance of OT systems.
• Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices, bringing innovative ideas to enhance the efficiency and security of OT infrastructure.
• Address and resolve variances/defects reported by other departments and initiate corrective actions for system updates and maintenance activities.
• Manage third party RTU's SCADA integration activities.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• 4-5 years of relevant working experience
• Proficiency in control systems platform (PLCs and RTUs
• Valid UAE driving license

Desired Requirements

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• 6-7 years of relevant working experience
• Maintenance contracts experience
