Engineer - Infrastructure

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor roads, earthworks, drainage, and water, sewerage, electrical, and telecom utility construction.
• Review contractor shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and construction programs.
• Monitor progress, quality, and compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, testing, and quality assurance activities.
• Coordinate with contractors, clients, utility authorities, designers, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain site records, progress reports, inspection documentation, and project files; analyze schedules for delays and resource constraints.
• Support review of Inspection Requests, Requests for Information, and Non-Conformance Reports, and monitor infrastructure interfaces.
• Participate in progress meetings and provide updates on performance and outstanding works.
• Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Support commissioning and handover documentation, including as-built records and operational manuals.
• Collaborate on innovative solutions and process improvements for infrastructure delivery.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least eight years of infrastructure engineering experience.
• Proven experience in site supervision, inspection, or delivery of infrastructure projects.
• Technical knowledge of roads, earthworks, drainage, sewerage, potable water, and utility networks.
• Understanding of construction contracts, technical specifications, and quality procedures.
• Experience in progress monitoring, technical reviews, and construction inspections.
• Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills, with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of construction health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Ability to analyze technical information and solve problems collaboratively.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience on major infrastructure projects in the Middle East or similar regions is preferred.
• Familiarity with construction management software and digital documentation systems is preferred.
• Stakeholder coordination, contractor relationship management, budget awareness, and cost management experience are preferred.
• Professional certifications in civil engineering or construction management are preferred.
• Experience with infrastructure testing, commissioning, and handover is preferred.

Workplace and onboarding

• The role includes site supervision, inspections, and construction monitoring in Al Khafji, Saudi Arabia.
• New hires must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
