Engineer - Frontend Development

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable frontend applications using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Build reusable UI components and frontend libraries; translate UI/UX designs into responsive interfaces.
• Optimize for performance, accessibility, security, and cross-browser compatibility; lead architecture decisions and engineering best practices.
• Write and test maintainable code, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
• Integrate APIs and services with backend teams; participate in planning, technical discussions, and product roadmap execution.
• Improve CI/CD, testing, and deployment; troubleshoot complex production issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional frontend development experience.
• Strong JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and at least one of React, Vue, or Angular.
• GIS-related libraries such as Mapbox or Cesium; knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design.
• Experience with state management such as Redux or MobX; familiarity with tools such as Webpack, Vite, or Babel.
• Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, testing frameworks such as Jest, Git, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, or Azure); the description presents these as alternatives.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Ideal additional experience

• Next.js or another SSR framework; frontend performance profiling and WCAG accessibility standards.
• Design systems or component libraries such as Storybook, MUI, or Tailwind.
• Open-source contributions or technical blogs.
