Endoscopy Technician II

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Minimum one-year Endoscopy Technician I experience; or two years of direct patient care experience; or one-year central service/sterile processing technician and 6 months of direct patient care experience. Knowledge of or experience with electronic applications. Knowledge in surgical or central service functions, including high-level disinfection process and intravenous catheterization, phlebotomy and/or GI endoscopy equipment and procedures. Endoscopy Technician I experience as needed. Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program, Phlebotomy Technician program or equivalent health care experience. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to follow written and verbal directions and multi-tasking. Ability to work independently and/or in a team setting. Experience performing multiple tasks within a work shift. Works flexible hours to meet the demands of the work unit. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting. Excellent communication skills. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required within 60 days of hire. Maintains BCLS competency.
