EMS Control Algorithm Senior Engineer (MI, Auburn Hills)

This job requires an experienced engineer to analyze, design, verify, and document engine control algorithms to meet the needs for production applications with global automotive vehicle manufacturers.

This position will involve significant amounts of leadership and coordination between the China and American teams to design a common global algorithm architecture.

• Develop forward/advanced engine management system control algorithms for current and future engine technologies.
• Analyze and interpret customer requirements for implementation as algorithm/system models.
• Create functional requirements, system models, test plans, and instructions to define, validate, communicate, and calibrate algorithms.
• Work closely with software engineers to optimize algorithm and software structure.
• Validate that algorithm design performs to system requirements on simulation benches and test vehicles.
• Maintain global engine management system control algorithms to meet customer production program requirements.
• Communicate with global application teams and customers to support proper use and application of designs.
• Provide system requirements/specifications to drive component design to meet future engine control system needs.
• Work with the component engineering teams to implement new components in an engine management system.
• Lead activities with the China engineering team to develop architecture to support China market.
