Role overview

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation/Control Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of hands-on industrial equipment maintenance experience.
• Plastic manufacturing, printing, or packaging industry experience is highly preferred.
• Strong PLC knowledge, including Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Schneider, or similar systems.
• Experience with HMI/touch screens, VFDs/inverters, AC/DC drives, servo motors and drives, and motion control systems.
• Knowledge of industrial sensors, temperature controllers, PID control, electrical panels, relays, contactors, circuit breakers, and power supplies.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams and diagnose PCB and electronic board faults.
• Knowledge of Modbus, Profibus/Profinet, and Ethernet/IP; able to use multimeters, clamp meters, and oscilloscopes.
• Machinery experience with blown film, flexographic printing, bag making, extruders, cutting/sealing, winding/rewinding, packaging machinery, compressors, or auxiliary systems is preferred.
• PLC/HMI/servo backups, restoration, configuration, error-code analysis, manufacturer software, and basic PLC modifications are preferred.
• Good technical English; able to understand machinery manuals and communicate with manufacturers and support teams.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair modern industrial machinery and diagnose electrical, electronic, PLC, servo, inverter, sensor, and control-system faults.
• Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns and support shift and emergency maintenance when required.
• Communicate with machinery manufacturers and technical support teams.
• Work under pressure and follow electrical and industrial safety procedures.

Location and industry

• The role is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in the plastic manufacturing industry.
