The electromechanics technician will ensure the functionality and reliability of machines, engines, and mechanical systems by performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance on the equipment.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance of plant and equipment associated with our fleet of near-shore & onshore site investigation equipment including various drilling & winch systems, sea-going jack-up platforms, that integrates electrical circuits with mechanical parts. Track operated vehicles and all ancillary equipment.
- Follow correct routines as laid down by Workshop Manager to ensure cost control and high standard of equipment is maintained.
- Assist the Workshop Manager, Site Supervisor, Foreman and other electromechanics technicians in providing suitable solutions to problems/situations faced on site.
- Ensure that all information and events on site are logged accurately and handed over to the Foreman.
- Assist in repairing/ troubleshooting and assembling project specific electromechanical components such as electro-valves associated to hydraulic pumps motors and control valves.
- Follow, understand & provide input in electric diagrams, and blueprints in assembling new drill rigs as designed by Fugro.
- Be able to troubleshoot electrical faults on diesel engine powered, hydraulically operated machinery.
- Familiar with DC and AC circuits.
- High-level troubleshooting skills to quickly identify root causes of equipment malfunctions.
- Test equipment functionality using specialized tools such as multimeters.
- Ensure that work is performed safely and within time limits where breakdowns on site occur.
- Should be aware of all safety issues and potential risks of the job and maintain clean working stations.
- Ensure all work activities undertaken are carried out in accordance with company policies and standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience as an electromechanics /technician.
- Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in hydraulic/ motor driven equipment.
