Required Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current Minnesota Class A Journeyworker Electrician license (or Master Electrician license)
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and meet St. Olaf College driver authorization criteria with a satisfactory driving record
  • Experience:
  • 1+ years of experience at a Journeyworker or Master Electrician level.
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact effectively within a diverse community.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and utility tunnels.
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of standard tools, equipment, and testing instruments of the electrical trade.
  • 3+ years of experience at the Journeyworker or Master Electrician level.
  • Knowledge of heating, cooling, and building automation systems (BAS).
  • Knowledge of utility locate equipment and underground wiring tracing.
  • Knowledge of commercial fire alarm system operation, testing, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E standards for electrical safety in the workplace.
  • Employment in this position is conditioned upon successful completion of a background check which may include criminal background checks, reference checks, verification of work history, verification of any required academic credentials, licenses, and/or certifications, a motor vehicle check, verification of DOT certification, a credit check, employment eligibility verification, and/or a pre-employment physical. Whether a background check is deemed successfully completed will be at the sole discretion of St. Olaf College. Please note, St. Olaf College reserves the right to conduct periodic background checks at its sole discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Completion of an accredited Trade School or formal Electrical Apprenticeship program.
  • Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience at the Journeyworker or Master Electrician level.

  • Knowledge of commercial fire alarm system operation, testing, and maintenance.
