Role overview
Senior Project Engineer responsible for technical and commercial delivery of low-voltage switchgear and control-panel projects.

The role leads multidisciplinary work, manages customer requirements and supports less experienced engineers.
Project and engineering delivery
- Lead project delivery, define technical scope, translate specifications into engineering requirements and maintain design schedules.
- Review contract documents, agree technical clarifications, manage risks and control technical changes.
- Coordinate resources across projects and lead design of switchgear assemblies, distribution boards and control panels.
- Review and approve electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams and general arrangement drawings.
- Specify and approve breakers, contactors, relays, busbar systems, protection relays, metering, transformers and auxiliary equipment.
- Support production teams, resolve build queries, coordinate technical issues with procurement and suppliers, and support design-for-manufacture.
- Plan and lead factory acceptance tests; review results, corrective actions and non-conformances.
- Own bills of materials and approve drawings, manufacturing information, test records and handover documentation.
- Maintain revision control and traceable records; investigate engineering issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- Experienced project engineer able to lead multidisciplinary work and make sound technical decisions.
- Able to manage customer requirements and support development of less experienced engineers.
- Projects must meet IEC 61439, applicable BS EN standards, customer specifications, agreed budgets and delivery dates.
