About the role
Electrical Project Engineer role on a construction team in Qatar, overseeing electrical installations from project inception to completion.
Ensure project delivery on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate electrical site activities against schedules, budgets, and specifications.
- Coordinate with mechanical and plumbing engineers to resolve design clashes and integrate MEP systems.
- Supervise electrical subcontractors and technicians; ensure work follows approved shop drawings, method statements, and safety rules.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical specifications for compliance with requirements and local regulations, including QCS.
- Inspect sites to monitor progress, workmanship quality, and material use.
- Liaise with consultants, clients, and main contractors to facilitate approvals and workflow.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on site status, manpower, and technical issues.
Mandatory requirements
- Currently reside in Qatar, hold a valid transferable visa with NOC available, and be able to join immediately.
- Four to seven years of experience as an Electrical Engineer with a construction company, consultancy, or contractor.
- Extensive hands-on MEP construction experience with electrical systems such as LV/MV, lighting, power, and containment.
- Valid UPDA Certificate with minimum Grade C classification.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of local and international electrical codes and standards, including QCS, IEC, and NEC.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Pay
- Pay starts at QAR 6,000 per month.
