Electrical Inspector

Role purpose

Key responsibilities

• Record contractor-reported pre-installation defects in supporting infrastructure.
• Inspect and document infrastructure condition before installation activities.
• Monitor laminae and PLMS node replacement against approved requirements and scope.
• Verify recovered infrastructure is returned to RTA stores.
• Maintain records of observations, defects, replacements, and close-out status.
• Coordinate inspection findings and corrective actions with contractor teams, supervisors, and project engineers.
• Raise and track defects, damage, incomplete work, and non-compliant installation practices.
• Support quality checks, component record audits, routine site inspections, and project reporting.

Experience and profile

• Hands-on electrical inspection experience is sought, preferably in street lighting, public realm, utilities, or infrastructure works.
• Site-based inspection, defect recording, and quality documentation experience are sought.
• Familiarity with street lighting components and supporting infrastructure is sought.
• Exposure to PLMS nodes or similar smart lighting/control components is advantageous.
• Dubai/UAE or wider Middle East project experience is preferred.

Technical competencies

• Inspect electrical and supporting infrastructure works on site.
• Identify and record defects; maintain inspection logs, checklists, and site records.
• Understand street lighting components, including laminae and PLMS nodes.
• Understand material recovery and return procedures for project assets.
• Coordinate with contractors and engineering teams to close inspection findings.

Soft skills

• Attention to detail, clear communication, and organized record-keeping.
• Practical site coordination and follow-up capability.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and procedural compliance.
