Role overview

Inspection and delivery responsibilities

• Inspect road and infrastructure electrical works against approved drawings, specifications, and authority requirements.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, and as-built drawings.
• Monitor street lighting, LV networks, earthing, protective devices, signage and tunnel lighting, and ancillary power installations.
• Witness and record electrical testing and commissioning, including resistance, continuity, earth, lighting-control, and protection tests.
• Monitor contractor quality procedures, issue inspection requests and non-conformance or corrective action reports, and coordinate technical resolutions.
• Keep inspection, test, progress, and quality records; prepare reports and support progress monitoring, safety checks, quantity verification, handover, and close-out.

Required qualifications and experience

• At least 5 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Inspector or similar on roads and infrastructure projects; UAE or GCC experience is preferred.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
• Strong knowledge of street lighting, LV distribution, IEC/BS standards, and applicable local authority regulations.
• Experience in site inspection, quality control, and supervision of electrical works on large civil or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, cable routing layouts, and coordination drawings.
• Practical experience with electrical testing, commissioning, cable laying, jointing, termination, and panel installations.
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements for electrical works in road corridors and infrastructure projects.
• Good written and verbal English; competent with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Desired skills

• Experience on major infrastructure projects in Dubai or Sharjah is preferred.
• Familiarity with Sharjah authority procedures, utility corridor and road-lighting regulations, QA/QC software, digital inspection systems, and multidisciplinary coordination is desirable.

Location and work setting

• The role is based in Sharjah, UAE, and includes daily site inspections.
