Job summary
Prepare electrical cost estimates, develop electrical designs, and support operation of electrical systems, including switchgear, for building or infrastructure projects.
Ensure work complies with project specifications, international standards, and local regulations.
Technical submissions and design coordination
- Ensure technical submissions meet customer and project requirements.
- Ensure technical drawings, compliance statements, and technical submissions meet requirements and manager instructions.
- Prepare as-built drawings based on manufactured panels before panel dispatch.
- Compile operation and maintenance manuals.
- Coordinate with Sales, Production, QA, Stores, Kahramaa, and consultants to implement design requirements across projects.
- Review enquiries to confirm requirements are clear and within the scope of the company’s product range.
- Liaise with Sales Engineers and customers to clarify technical requirements and support accurate estimates.
Project and maintenance delivery
- Identify resource requirements and ensure suitable resources, trained personnel, work performance, and verification activities.
- Manage day-to-day project delivery according to plans and requirements.
- Supervise maintenance work, safety protocols, and site meetings; prepare maintenance and test reports.
- Attend Kahramaa and QDCC inspections.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, QA, and Stores to ensure customer requirements are implemented.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3–7 years of experience in electrical estimation, design, or electrical system operation.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD is preferred.
- UPDA certification is highly preferred; the posting also lists a UPDA or Kahramaa license as preferred.
