Electrical Engineer – Fire Fighting Systems

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with strong experience in Fire Fighting and Life Safety Systems. The candidate will be responsible for the design, execution, testing, and commissioning of fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. System Design & Engineering
- Prepare detailed design drawings, calculations, and layouts for:
- Fire Fighting Systems (hydrant, sprinkler, foam systems)
- Fire Alarm Systems (addressable & conventional)
- Pump room layouts and electrical interfaces
- Ensure designs comply with:
- NFPA standards (NFPA 13, NFPA 20, NFPA 72)
- Local authority regulations and codes
2. Project Execution
- Coordinate with MEP teams, consultants, and contractors for smooth project execution
- Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals
- Monitor site activities related to fire fighting electrical systems
3. Installation & Commissioning
- Supervise installation of fire fighting system electrical components
- Perform testing & commissioning of:
- Fire pumps
- Fire alarm systems
- Emergency systems integration
- Ensure all systems are functioning as per design and safety standards
4. Authority Approvals & Compliance
- Liaise with civil defense / local authorities for approvals and inspections
- Ensure all documentation and submissions meet regulatory requirements
5. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in fire protection systems
- Support maintenance teams with technical expertise
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in Fire Fighting / Fire Protection Systems
- Experience in MEP contracting or fire protection companies preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of firefighting and fire alarm systems
- Familiarity with NFPA standards and local fire safety regulations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical design tools
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and coordination abilities
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with pump controllers and firefighting system automation
- Knowledge of emergency lighting and voice evacuation systems
- Prior experience in large-scale commercial or industrial projects
