Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• The maintenance of all electrical services, plant, machinery, and equipment.
• To ensure all plant, equipment and machinery meet the requirements of Health & Safety legislation and are maintained in this manner, and keep documentation for audits and H&S requirements.
• To control Portable Appliance Testing at Mergon UK.
• The control and maintenance of the Production Monitoring System.
• The control and maintenance of the electrical energy consumption monitoring system.
• To develop and implement machine improvements.
• To develop and implement control systems for secondary operation machines and equipment.
• Take and active role in automation of production, and process flow improvements.
• Provide electrical breakdown cover outside of normal working hours where it is deemed reasonable.
• To develop and train the Electrical Apprentice and Shift Technicians after they have received suitable external training.
• To be successful in this role, you will likely have:
• At least 5 years’ experience as a qualified Engineer, previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment an advantage but not essential.
• Experience of electrical fault finding and use of PLC’s.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence others and work as part of a team essential.
• Relevant Electrical qualifications.
