Electrical Commissioning Engineer

About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our team for upcoming large-scale projects. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that complex electrical building systems, including LV/MV power distribution, lighting controls, generators, and UPS systems, are installed, integrated, tested, and handed over according to design intent and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, execute, and manage the testing and commissioning (T&C) phases for all electrical and power systems.
• Develop, review, and execute electrical commissioning plans, method statements, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Coordinate electrical T&C activities closely with main contractors, MEP sub-contractors, design consultants, and clients.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor electrical installation progress, identify integration issues early, and track punch-list items through to successful resolution.
• Oversee and witness functional performance testing for switchgears, transformers, backup power systems, and lighting, as well as integrated system testing (IST).
• Ensure all testing procedures and documentation align with international standards and project specifications, leading up to a successful final handover.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in testing and commissioning for large-scale commercial, educational, or industrial projects.
• Deep technical knowledge of electrical distribution systems, grounding, backup power generation, and how they integrate with other building services.
• Strong familiarity with international electrical commissioning standards (such as IEEE, IEC, or equivalent) and local regulatory codes.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate diverse teams and resolve technical roadblocks on-site.
