Role overview

Operations, compliance, and performance

• Ensure safe and on-time aircraft refuelling while maintaining cost-efficient operations.
• Implement country HSSE programs, Shell Aviation's annual HSSE plan, and HSSE KPIs.
• Maintain compliance with Shell airport operations, quality assurance, maintenance, and asset standards, Dubai Airport regulations, and UAE law.
• Monitor operational expenses and budget, including Point of Sale costs; ensure accurate sales data capture and transmission for invoicing.

Assets and operational resources

• Oversee preventive maintenance, defect reporting, root-cause resolution, and aviation spare inventory replenishment.
• Manage third-party manpower contracts, staff concerns, manpower and equipment requirements, traffic surveys, fleet optimization, and blackspot maps.
• Support continuous improvement, digitalization, i6 adoption, and operations at throughput locations.
• Support future airport transition operations projects to Al Maktoum International.

Stakeholders and people leadership

• Build relationships with airport stakeholders through meetings, safety campaigns, safety days, and other engagement sessions.
• Support growth opportunities through market intelligence and operational capacity insights; share operational best practices.
• Promote safety reporting and ensure incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Provide visible leadership, coaching, and development to build a high-performing team.

Experience and operational knowledge

• Sound operational and technical knowledge of aviation fuel operations, including Into-Plane activities, airport operations, and joint venture environments.
• Strong understanding of industry standards, HSSE, risk management, and compliance.
• Experienced operations professional with commercial awareness.

• Strong analytical skills to identify trends and risks and turn operational data into practical improvements.
• Demonstrated people leadership and ability to develop diverse, multicultural teams.
• Ability to establish effective relationships with customers, airport authorities, joint venture partners, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Exceptional spoken and written English communication skills.
• An Engineering qualification is preferred.
