Samaritan Daytop Village is seeking a Driver to support transportation needs across its health and human services programs.
The Driver transports clients, staff, supplies, and other requested items safely between agency locations, appointments, and community sites.
The stated pay is $22.37 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Transport clients to program sites, appointments, and community locations.
- Pick up and deliver supplies from vendors and agency sites.
- Transport staff between agency locations and retrieve requested items such as mail.
- Plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays.
- Follow traffic laws, vehicle safety policies, and agency emergency procedures.
- Maintain daily vehicle trip logs and inspect vehicles before use.
- Ensure preventive maintenance, cleaning, and fueling are completed regularly.
- Represent the agency professionally in the community.
Qualifications
- Valid New York State driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- At least five years of proven driving experience.
- No statutory or major violations listed on the motor vehicle record.
- Ability to remain calm during rush hour, construction, heavy traffic, and other stressful driving situations.
