Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Draftsman - Electrical role based in Abu Dhabi.
The Draftsman - Electrical will produce detailed electrical drawings, layouts, and schematics for solar, battery storage, and energy infrastructure projects in accordance with project specifications, standards, and applicable codes.
The role includes preparing and updating electrical plans, single-line diagrams, cable routing, and panel schedules using CAD and related design tools.
The person in this role will collaborate closely with electrical engineers, project managers, and site teams to coordinate design information, resolve technical queries, and incorporate field feedback into drawings.
Responsibilities also include reviewing design inputs, organizing drawing documentation, maintaining version control, and supporting as-built documentation for project handover.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering principles and applied Electricity relevant to power and energy infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Electrical Design and developing Electrical Plans for solar PV, BESS, and grid-connected systems.
- Solid experience in Technical Drawing, including preparation of detailed schematics, layouts, and construction drawings using CAD software.
- Ability to interpret engineering documents, specifications, and standards, and translate them into accurate, buildable drawings.
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with relevant international and regional electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple drawing packages under time constraints.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams in an on-site project environment.
- Experience in renewable energy, substations, or industrial electrical projects in the Middle East is an advantage.
- Willingness to adhere to health, safety, and quality procedures and support continuous improvement in design documentation.
