Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a DM Civil Engineer based in Dubai.
The DM Civil Engineer will be responsible for preparing and reviewing civil drawings, designs, and calculations in line with Dubai Municipality (DM) standards and regulations.
Daily tasks include coordinating with design consultants, site engineers, and project managers to ensure designs are constructible, compliant, and accurately reflected on site.
The role involves submitting drawings and documents for DM approvals, responding to authority comments, and updating designs accordingly.
The engineer will conduct site visits as needed to verify design implementation, monitor quality and safety compliance, and support timely resolution of technical issues.
The role also includes preparing technical reports, maintaining accurate project documentation, and contributing to cost-effective, sustainable engineering solutions for ongoing and new projects.
Qualifications
- Strong civil engineering foundation, with experience in structural and infrastructure design, site development, and construction coordination.
- Hands-on experience with Dubai Municipality design standards, approval procedures, and other local authority requirements in Dubai.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools) and good command of MS Office for reporting and documentation.
- Proven ability to read, interpret, and review technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents with attention to detail.
- Effective communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills for working with consultants, contractors, authorities, and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose practical, cost-effective, and sustainable engineering solutions under time constraints.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience in Dubai or the wider UAE construction sector is preferred; DM approval or prior DM submission experience is an advantage.
