Founding Staff AI / ML Engineer

Core Responsibilities
- Own the full AI/ML lifecycle: research, prototyping, production deployment, and monitoring
- Design systems to extract structured data from complex financial and operational documents
- Develop agentic systems for retrieval and reasoning across fragmented enterprise environments
- Build predictive models for sales and financial forecasting
- Detect anomalies in retail and sales datasets
- Develop recommendation systems for promotions and trade spend optimization
- Collaborate with product and engineering to integrate AI into the platform
Example Problems You Will Solve
- AI-powered document ingestion (invoices, deductions, retailer reports)
- Agent workflows for legacy enterprise data retrieval and synthesis
- Sales forecasting for large-scale consumer brands
- Anomaly detection across multi-retailer datasets
- Promotion optimization tied to real trade spend outcomes
Required
- 5+ years of applied AI/ML experience in production environments
- Strong background in ML systems design and end-to-end deployment
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and NLP systems
- Strong product mindset with ability to translate AI into business impact
- Nice to Have
- Experience fine-tuning LLMs (e.g., LLaMA, GPT)
- Experience with agentic workflows or RAG systems
- Startup experience in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
Compensation & Benefits
- $300,000 – $350,000 base salary
- Up to 40% performance bonus
- 0.4% – 0.7% equity
- Relocation support to New York, NY
