This is a rare opportunity to join one of Asia's most established and respected residential rehabilitation groups — an organisation with a 10 year+ heritage of transforming lives, treating thousands of clients from more than 20 countries, and building a reputation as the premium destination of choice for individuals seeking discreet, high-quality addiction and mental health care.

The business operates a flagship 30-bed residential site and has recently expanded into Europe with a specialist 10-bed programme — reflecting an ambitious international growth agenda under the leadership of a highly experienced CEO with a background in world-class medical tourism operations.

The model is built on medical tourism: clients travel from the UK, Australia, the Middle East, Singapore, the Netherlands, the US, and Canada to access a programme that delivers demonstrably better outcomes at approximately 40% of the cost of comparable UK providers — with private rooms, comprehensive clinical programming, and a destination environment that facilitates genuine recovery.

The business is profitable, growing, and entering its most commercially ambitious phase to date.

This hire is central to that next chapter.

The Role

The Director of Marketing and Business Development is a senior, commercially critical appointment reporting directly to the CEO.

You will own the full growth engine of the business — leading both the Sales (Admissions & Strategic Partnerships) and Marketing (Digital, Content & Brand) functions, and driving high-quality client acquisition across the group's international markets.

You will inherit a talented, technically capable four-person marketing team based in Thailand, supported by a specialist external SEO agency.

Your role

is to lead, elevate, and execute — bringing strategic rigour, digital expertise, and commercial edge to a business that has earned its reputation through exceptional clinical outcomes and now needs to accelerate its market presence.

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Own and deliver revenue performance across all markets and service lines
  • Lead the Admissions function to ensure a seamless, high-conversion client journey
  • Expand the international referral network — outpatient centres, clinicians, concierge providers, and wellness operators
  • Develop targeted growth strategies across the UK, Australia, Asia, Middle East, and US
  • Represent the organisation at international forums and industry events

Marketing & Digital Acquisition

  • Lead the internal marketing team and external agency partners
  • Drive performance across online search, AI-driven discovery platforms, SEO, and digital channels
  • Own the content strategy across all pillars: search, social media, LinkedIn, referrals, and thought leadership
  • Improve visibility on AI discovery platforms where the business is currently underrepresented
  • Maintain rigorous oversight of ROI, attribution, and brand integrity

Brand & Thought Leadership

  • Elevate the organisation's reputation as a recognised authority in addiction treatment and mental health care
  • Lead content creation that reflects the business's evolution toward holistic, nervous system-informed, mental health-integrated approaches
  • Ensure a consistent, premium brand voice across all touchpoints and markets
  • Strengthen trust through PR, media, strategic partnerships, and expert positioning

Who We're Looking For

  • The successful candidate will be hands-on, hungry, and commercially sharp — someone who leads by doing, not just by directing.
  • You will be as comfortable shaping content strategy as you are reviewing conversion data or meeting a clinical referral partner.
  • You will bring:
  • Demonstrable experience leading Sales and/or Marketing functions at Director level in a healthcare, wellness, hospitality, or international services environment
  • Deep expertise in digital marketing — particularly SEO, AI-driven discovery, content strategy, and omnichannel acquisition
  • Proven track record working with and holding external agency partners accountable
  • Experience serving or acquiring high-net-worth, international, or premium client bases
  • Strong people leadership — able to develop and motivate a small, technically skilled team
  • Exceptional written English — essential for content oversight and brand governance given a non-native English speaking team
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to work sensitively within a healthcare environment that includes staff and clients in recovery
  • The ability to read and align to a brand's heritage, tone, and values — and build strategically from that foundation
  • Highly desirable:
  • Background in addiction treatment, mental health, or international patient services
  • Lived recovery experience — genuinely valued, not required
  • Prior experience living or working in Asia, or demonstrable international living experience
  • Familiarity with medical tourism as a business model and client acquisition channel

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: ~$100,000 USD per annum
  • 25 days combined annual leave
  • Relocation flights to Thailand covered
  • Temporary housing provided on arrival (2–4 weeks)
