Director, Merchandising

The Director, Merchandising at RH manages multiple assigned departments and leads the development of consumer relevant product that delivers against strategic, financial and brand equity objectives.

They will be accountable for product strategy, achieving financial goals and ensuring our customers receive outstanding service for one or more business across catalog, retail and web.

RH is a curator of design, taste and style in the luxury lifestyle market.

• Set challenging and productive goals for the entire cross-functional team and keep them accountable
• Strategize long and short term sales/margin growth for multiple departments
• Develop and ensures execution of brand strategies
• Strategically interprets and aligns consumer insight to all aspects of business
• Drives and executes product assortment strategies to deliver sales and margin forecasts
• Present product strategy/assortment to senior leadership
• Drive calendar to meet critical dates and hold team accountable
• Lead weekly & monthly financial review meetings, identifying corrective action necessary to maximize sales & margin
• Actively participate in and accountable to the financial forecast of the business, partnering with planning leads
• Initiate product development to capitalize on trends/consumer opportunities
• Drive product/pricing execution and timely receipts with vendors
• Manage as well as own details of the in season business and assortment management as part of a small team

• Be highly attuned to merchandising trends in the marketplace.
• Understand nuances in consumer behavior and competitive pressures

• Ability to engage and inspire a wide variety of partners, stakeholders, and team members.

• Bachelors in related discipline (10+ years of combined college education and work experience may be substituted for a degree)
