Director Design-Customer Coordination

Role purpose

Customer agreements and design integration

• Review, verify, negotiate, and manage MSAs, SLAs, customer design engineering requirements, technical compliance schedules, and fit-out specifications.
• Translate customer technical, operational, security, resilience, and scalability needs into design criteria and project documentation.

Multidisciplinary coordination

• Coordinate architecture, civil, structural, MEP, ICT, security, and commissioning teams to integrate customer requirements while protecting compliance, efficiency, cost, and schedule.
• Lead technical workshops, design reviews, and coordination meetings across project lifecycle stages.
• Maintain customer requirement matrices, compliance trackers, and gap analysis reports.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
• Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

Experience and capabilities

• 12 years of design experience in data centers or mission-critical infrastructure, including 5+ years in senior customer-facing design leadership.
• Experience with international and/or multi-regional projects and strong exposure to hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data centers.
• Knowledge of data center standards, codes, and regulatory frameworks.
• Able to manage remote delivery across time zones; advanced multidisciplinary design leadership, commercial awareness, and value engineering skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management; high proficiency in BIM, digital collaboration tools, and design platforms.
