Lummus Consultants International (LCI) is an autonomous business within Lummus Technology that provides technical, environmental & social and management consulting services worldwide.
We work primarily in the energy industry, with a depth of expertise in power generation, oil & gas, refining and petrochemicals.
We maintain a very strong presence in the international technical due diligence markets to support the global financial industry.
LCI has a far-reaching organization with offices in the United States, UK, the Middle East and Asia.
About The Role
Lummus Consultants is looking for a Business Development Director to grow the company into the area of technical and management consulting in the energy industry – offshore and onshore oil & gas, LNG, pipelines, power generation and transmission, as well as refining and petrochemicals.
This role will be expected to help grow the consulting practice area in the fields of oil & Gas, power delivery and decarbonization and will primarily entail growing relationships with the financial community and project developers.
Assignments require a high level of experience and ability to focus quickly on important issues.
The individual we are seeking must be comfortable and confident to work in a seller/doer organization structure.
Responsibilities
- Grow Lummus Consultants’ business – in cooperation with the existing business heads. His growth strategy should be heavily focused on technical solutions but with a broad business perspective beyond traditional due diligence assignments.
- Develop a business plan to capitalize on existing talents and resources within Lummus Consultants and Lummus Technology; the candidate’s strengths; and market opportunities.
- Grow name recognition of Lummus Consultants in all Energy industry segments (with assistance from the Lummus Communication team and other internal resources).
- Carry out business development, marketing, and proposal preparation efforts and lead Key Account Management teams efforts.
- Lead or participate in consulting project work.
- Prepare clear and concise written reports on assignments, develop conclusions and present clear and precise written and verbal results to clients.
- Expand the Lummus Consulting practice area (globally), consistent with the business plan – identify gaps in skills and potential recruits.
- Achieve objectives with minimal oversight.
- Management of the P&L forecast by close collaboration with his supervisor and finance.
- Report to Senior Director of Lummus Consultants in Dubai office.
Qualifications
- A degree-educated Engineer; MBA is a plus but not required.
- The candidate should have at least 20 years relevant professional experience.
- Prior experience with an owner/operator or major engineering company and/or consultancy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to write clear and concise reports in English.
- The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable conversing with clients and senior management.
- Demonstrated management and project management skills.

- Dubai office.
- Relocation is not being offered.
- Job-related travel (business trips usually requiring less than a two-week duration; often just one or two days) which includes international travel to financial institutions in London, is an important part of the work.
- Time away from the office may average 10 to 30 percent of work hours.
