Schedule & Work Environment

  • Support Services of Virginia provides services 24 hours a day. Full-time, part-time, and relief DSP opportunities are available , with schedules that may include day, evening, overnight, weekend, and other shifts based on program needs and employee availability.
  • Whether providing support in an individual’s home or within the community, DSPs play an important role in promoting independence and quality of life.
  • Virtual interviews and training are available through Zoom.

Compensation

  • Starting pay: $13.50 per hour
  • Opportunity to increase to $14.00 per hour following training and medication certification clearance
  • All certifications must be verified

Requirements

  • Proof of highest level of education
  • Ability to pass criminal background, registry, and tuberculosis screenings
  • Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, Medicaid Waiver Certification, and Direct Support Professional Core Competencies
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
