Job Summary

Functions as the property's strategic Facilities Business Leader.

The Director of Engineering is responsible for the Engineering operations and projects at the Hotel.

Provides a high level of property maintenance knowledge.

Position has overall responsibility for maintaining the building, grounds and physical plant with particular attention towards safety, security and asset protection.

As the property is going into a full scale renovation you will thrive with Project Management and assume overall responsibility for navigating through the repositioning.

Furthermore you will be Accountable for managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance and energy conservation, so a strong eye for numbers will be essential.

You will develop and implements strategies that will deliver products and services, which meet or exceed the needs and expectations of guests and employees while maximizing the financial performance.

Responsible for maintaining standards and regulatory requirements.

Leads the emergency response team for all facility issues.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role, within a five star hotel or equivalent.

Skills And Knowledge

  • Operations experience in facilities and engineering management.
  • Project Management experience & stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong leadership and customer focus.
  • Budgeting and scheduling expertise.
  • Ability to motivate teams.
  • Strong communication skills.

Education

  • Degree in Engineering or related field.

Managing Engineering Operations And Budgets

  • Manages plant systems: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration.
  • Administers service contracts.
  • Manages utilities and expenses.
  • Develops engineering strategy.
  • Leads maintenance and asset protection plans.

Maintaining Engineering Standards

  • Ensures compliance with regulations.
  • Maintains fire safety and life-safety systems.

Managing Profitability

  • Oversees budgets, payroll, and expenses.
