Supervises digital print production, staff, machinery, and quality at a factory.
Duties and responsibilities
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.
- Assign responsibilities, prepare schedules, allocate manpower, and provide instructions.
- Ensure workers follow work instructions and correct production methods; supervise storage of produced materials.
- Supervise safe operation of printing press machinery and equipment, and schedule regular maintenance.
- Oversee, coach, and train employees, including safe machinery use and procedures for new employees.
- Check output against specifications; report performance and progress to management.
- Identify efficiency issues and report suggested improvements to management.
- Enforce safety guidelines and company standards.
- Recognize potential print issues and plan layouts with the head of production.
- Apply quality assurance guidelines; examine finished samples and approve quality before client delivery.
- Monitor product quality and deadlines; organize, control, and monitor the production area.
- Select binding, inks, paper, varnishes, and special printing processes; create and enforce a quality standards plan.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited three-year college or university in any subject.
- At least five years of experience, including three years in the printing press field.
- Basic safety training, related production training, effective planning training, or similar training.
- Strong negotiation, verbal communication, analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently as needed.
- Strong command of English and working knowledge of Arabic.
