About This Role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate scalable platform services across cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments, including compute, networking, storage, and observability components.
- Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools to provision and manage platform resources safely and reproducibly.
- Ensure platform reliability and availability through capacity planning, performance tuning, and operational runbooks.
CI/CD, Automation & Developer Experience
- Design, operate, and improve CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and secure software delivery for engineering teams.
- Automate platform operations, deployments, and routine tasks using scripting or orchestration tools (e.g., Python, Go, Bash, Ansible).
- Partner with developers to improve developer experience, create self-service workflows, and provide tooling that reduces cognitive load; Cost Optimization
- Work with Security and Compliance teams to integrate secure-by-default platform configurations, secrets management, and least-privilege access controls.
- Participate in cost management activities, including rightsizing, reserved instances/savings plans, and monitoring to optimize cloud spend.
- Contribute to architecture reviews and operational risk assessments to ensure platform changes meet security and compliance requirements.
Documentation, Training & Collaboration
- Produce and maintain platform documentation, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and onboarding guides for engineering teams.
- Provide training and mentorship to engineers on platform best practices, tooling, and operational procedures.
- Work cross-functionally to align platform roadmap with product goals and engineering needs, and to support vendor evaluations and integrations.
