DevOps Engineer | Release Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines; automate builds, tests, deployments, and releases across development, staging, and production.
• Manage release processes, schedules, versioning, deployment workflows, standards, checklists, environment controls, and operational procedures.
• Coordinate releases; maintain repositories, branching strategies, merge workflows, and release branches.
• Monitor pipelines and troubleshoot build, integration, deployment, infrastructure, and performance issues.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and manage cloud infrastructure and deployment environments.
• Develop automation scripts and tools; configure Docker and container orchestration environments.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions; monitor system health after releases.
• Manage configuration, environment variables, secrets, and deployment parameters securely.
• Integrate security controls and vulnerability checks, automated testing, and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
• Support rollback, recovery, release remediation, incident response, root-cause analysis, and post-release reviews.
• Maintain deployment documentation, release notes, technical procedures, and operational runbooks; communicate production release status.
• Support controlled deployment strategies, optimize pipelines, identify automation opportunities, and evaluate DevOps tools and practices.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience in DevOps, release engineering, build engineering, systems engineering, cloud operations, or a similar role.
• Strong software development lifecycle, release management, CI/CD, Git, and source-control knowledge.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms; cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes or other containerization technologies.
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation is an advantage.
• Strong scripting skills with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar; understanding of Linux and Windows servers.
• Knowledge of networking, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, load balancing, monitoring, logging, application security, secrets, access controls, and vulnerability management.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, organizational, and root-cause analysis skills; ability to work under pressure during releases and incidents.
• DevOps, cloud, Kubernetes, or relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
