Responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable, secure, highly available infrastructure and manage cloud resources for performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Handle raw networking and iptables configuration; integrate security into pipelines and conduct audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Manage IDS/IPS, WAF, and SIEM tools and respond to security incidents.
- Scale and tune sharded databases; maintain data integrity, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Lead Kubernetes clusters and containerized deployment strategies for availability, resilience, and fault tolerance.
- Build CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure and application deployment with Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.
- Manage and mentor a small DevOps team, conduct performance reviews, and lead on-call and incident response.
- Promote a you-build-it-you-run-it culture across engineering.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of DevOps or related experience.
- Deep Kubernetes and container orchestration expertise; expert raw networking knowledge, including TCP/IP and DNS, and hands-on iptables skills.
- Experience managing sharded databases larger than 500 TB.
- Strong cybersecurity background, including threat modeling and incident response.
- Proficiency in at least one of Python, Bash, or Go, and hands-on cloud platform experience such as AWS or GCP.
