Overview

What You'll Be Doing

• We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to own and evolve our cloud infrastructure and platform reliability.
• In this role you will sit at the intersection of software development, delivery and system administration, ensuring our digital commerce applications are performant, resilient, and most importantly, observable.
• You will design proactive alerting and monitoring frameworks, manage cloud environments across AWS and GCP, and partner closely with engineering and product teams to streamline deployments and incident response.
• Architect, maintain, and optimise cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP to support digital commerce platforms.
• Design and implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions (e.g., Newrelic, Datadog, CloudWatch, Stackdriver, Datadog, Grafana, PagerDuty) to ensure platform uptime and early incident detection.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment of applications.
• Manage server provisioning, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Collaborate with development teams to containerise applications and manage orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS).
• Working and experimenting agentic DevOps practices including self-healing infrastructure, AI-assisted incident response, intelligent automation, and AIOps platforms (e.g., Moogsoft, Dynatrace Davis AI, New Relic AI) to drive autonomous, proactive operation.
• Perform system administration tasks including security hardening, patching, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Establish and maintain SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs for key platform services.
• Manage and optimise CDN configurations (e.g. Cloudflare, CloudFront, Akamai, Fastly) to ensure fast, reliable content delivery and an optimal end-user experience across regions.
• Drive cloud cost optimisation initiatives by analysing resource utilisation, rightsizing infrastructure, leveraging reserved/spot instances, and implementing tagging and budgeting best practices across AWS and GCP.
• Document infrastructure architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Systems Administration role.
• Hands-on experience with the Magento (Adobe Commerce) technology stack (monolith and/or headless), including familiarity with its codebase, deployment workflows, and infrastructure requirements. Strong understanding of Magento’s database layer (MySQL/MariaDB) with experience in DB monitoring, query optimisation, indexing strategies, and performance tuning to ensure platform stability under high-traffic conditions.
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudFront, Route 53) and/or GCP equivalents.
• Proven experience supporting digital commerce / e-commerce applications in production.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience setting up end-to-end monitoring and proactive alerting frameworks
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, CDN, VPN, firewalls).
• Experience with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS).
• Leveraging AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) to accelerate infrastructure-as-code development, script writing, and troubleshooting.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
