Role overview

Senior full-stack developer on Airbus India's Airline Sciences team within the Digital department.

Build specialized products using simulation and data-model capabilities to solve aerospace and airline operations problems.

The role combines end-to-end product development, business-needs scoping, interactive prototyping, and scalable web delivery.

This is a modern web application and cloud data engineering role, not embedded systems, avionics firmware, or DO-178C certification work.

Core responsibilities

  • Develop ReactJS frontend and backend components using Java, Spring Boot concepts, and microservices; Python prototypes may be created for proof of concept.
  • Deliver product-specific database, AWS cloud, and DevOps work.
  • Write production-ready code, implement operational business logic, and participate in planning, reviews, CI/CD, and tier-two live-application troubleshooting.
  • Contribute across product analysis, design, testing, integration, and operations; investigate issues and resolve bugs.
  • Coordinate integrations, define test strategies and scenarios, monitor execution, and assess how existing systems work together.
  • Research tools and deploy, test, or integrate scalable, highly available, maintainable, monitored systems.
  • Potentially support architecture, client discovery workshops, technical feasibility assessments, prototypes, and stakeholder demonstrations.
  • May assist with product user manuals.

Technology and domain

  • Tech stack includes React, Python (FastAPI or Django), and/or Node.js/TypeScript; RESTful and GraphQL APIs; Docker; and AWS.
  • Architecture includes microservices, event-driven data ingestion, Redis caching, and responsive data dashboards.
  • Relevant domains include commercial flight operations, navigation, flight data monitoring (FDM/FOQA), ACARS/ADS-B telemetry, airport operations (AODB), fuel optimization, and disruption management.

Candidate requirements

  • 5–7 years of software development experience, especially hands-on work from discovery and design through prototyping and industrialization.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Passion for technology and problem solving is required.
  • Must be able to travel for business in Europe when required.

Team and reporting

  • The role is described as joining the team in Bengaluru and reports to a Senior Group Manager/Product Manager within Airbus India.
  • Some business travel in Europe may be involved.
