Design Manager - Interior Fit out

Overview

Design Strategy & Leadership

• Lead and manage the design team across multiple fit-out projects simultaneously.
• Drive creative excellence and ensure consistency in design quality across all projects.
• Develop and implement design standards, processes, and best practices.
• Mentor and guide designers, fostering creativity and professional growth.

Concept Design & Client Engagement

• Develop innovative design concepts that align with client requirements, project objectives, and brand standards.
• Prepare mood boards, design presentations, material selections, and concept proposals.
• Conduct client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating design intent and solutions.
• Interpret client briefs and translate them into creative and practical design solutions.

3D Visualization & Design Development

• Oversee the creation of high-quality 3D models, renderings, and visual presentations.
• Ensure design concepts are accurately developed into detailed and executable designs.
• Review and approve all design deliverables prior to client submission.

Technical & Production Drawings

• Manage the preparation and review of technical drawings, detailed shop drawings, and production drawings.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, local regulations, and manufacturing requirements.
• Coordinate closely with production and site teams to ensure design feasibility and accuracy.
• Resolve technical design issues during project execution.

Project Coordination & Execution

• Collaborate with project managers, estimators, procurement teams, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in project planning, design reviews, and site visits.
• Monitor project timelines and ensure design deliverables are completed within schedule.
• Support value engineering initiatives while maintaining design integrity and project objectives.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure all design outputs meet company quality standards and client expectations.
• Review materials, finishes, and detailing to ensure suitability for production and installation.
• Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, materials, and best practices within the fit-out industry.

& Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in interior fit-out design, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in concept design, commercial interiors, retail environments, hospitality, luxury spaces, or bespoke fit-out projects.
• Proven experience in 3D visualization, technical detailing, shop drawings, and production drawings.
• Strong understanding of fit-out production processes, materials, construction methods, and site execution.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong working knowledge of SketchUp, 3ds Max, Revit, Rhino, or similar 3D software.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Experience preparing detailed technical and production documentation.
• Knowledge of local building regulations and fit-out industry standards.
