Job description

Parsons is seeking a Design Manager to lead and manage coordination of multidisciplinary design and design-review projects across buildings, infrastructure, landscape, and master planning.

The consultant-side role focuses on design governance, technical integration, authority compliance, and stakeholder coordination.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring alignment across architectural, structural, MEP, infrastructure, and specialist disciplines.
  • Oversee design development and design review from concept through detailed design and IFC.
  • Ensure consistency with the client brief, design intent, project objectives, and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate design submissions, responses to comments, and revisions from client, authority, and third-party reviews.
  • Act as the central point of contact for design interfaces and technical integration.
  • Manage sub-consultants and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables aligned with scope and programme.
  • Chair design coordination meetings and workshops, issuing actions and follow-ups.
  • Support programme tracking, progress reporting, and risk identification.
  • Ensure design documentation meets consultancy QA/QC procedures and project quality requirements.
  • Maintain structured records of design decisions, approvals, and technical correspondence.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in design coordination, design management, or similar roles.
  • Experience working within an engineering or multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
  • Strong understanding of design development workflows and approval processes.
  • Experience coordinating projects in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is strongly preferred.

Desired skills

  • Ability to interpret and coordinate technical design information across disciplines; knowledge of local authority requirements, codes, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience managing complex design interfaces and resolving coordination issues; strong planning, reporting, and document-control skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, leadership and coordination capability, and a detail-oriented, proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities under tight deadlines in structured, programme-driven consultancy environments.
