Design Engineer – LV Switchgear / Electrical Panels

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Prepare control logic and electrical design drawings based on SLDs and project requirements.
• Develop drawings and documentation for LV switchgear panels used in road infrastructure projects.
• Prepare control circuit, schematic, wiring, and panel layout drawings.
• Review SLDs, project specifications, and client requirements for compliance.
• Prepare technical proposals, PQ documentation, MAR and MIR documentation, technical submittals, datasheets, material schedules, and other project documents.
• Coordinate with Project, Estimation, Procurement, Production, and QA/QC teams.
• Incorporate client and consultant comments into drawings and technical submissions.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and standards; maintain revision-controlled drawings and documents.
• Assist in selecting electrical components and support production and project teams during panel manufacturing and installation.
• Submit drawings and technical documents according to project schedules.

Required qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant electrical design experience; LV switchgear or panel manufacturing and road infrastructure experience are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of LV switchgear panels and electrical control systems.
• Ability to interpret SLDs and electrical drawings, and experience preparing control logic, schematic, wiring, and panel layout drawings.
• Experience preparing PQ, MAR, MIR, technical submittals, and design documentation.
• Knowledge of electrical components used in LV switchgear and control panels.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical standards and project specifications.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred experience

• Road infrastructure project experience is preferred.
• Ashghal project experience is an advantage.
• Experience with road lighting, signage, gantries, traffic systems, or other road infrastructure applications is advantageous.
• LV panel manufacturing and production coordination experience is preferred.
