Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Design Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of ground improvement works.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing cost-effective and technically sound design solutions for ground improvement projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed design calculations and engineering reports for ground improvement systems.
- Design ground improvement techniques such as:
- Vibro Compaction
• Vibro Replacement (Stone Columns)
- Dynamic Compaction
• Deep Soil Mixing (DSM)
- Jet Grouting
• Controlled Modulus Columns (CMC)
- Rigid Inclusions
- Estimation & tendering Requirements for Ground improvement jobs .
- Review geotechnical investigation reports and recommend suitable ground improvement solutions.
- Perform settlement, bearing capacity, slope stability, and liquefaction analyses.
- Prepare design drawings, specifications, and technical submissions.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and project teams during design development and project execution.
- Provide technical support to construction teams during project implementation.
- Review contractor/shop drawings and ensure compliance with design intent.
- Optimize designs to achieve technical and commercial efficiency.
- Ensure designs comply with international codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Assist in preparing technical proposals and tender submissions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering is an advantage).
- Minimum
- 5 years of relevant experience
- in the design of ground improvement works.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering principles.
- Experience in using geotechnical design software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Settle3, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of international design standards and codes.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with international ground improvement contractors.
- Familiarity with Middle East projects and standards is an advantage.
- Experience in piling, deep foundations, or marine ground improvement projects is preferred.
